ABOUT US
Devoted to Prayer and the Ministry of the Word
At Grace Baptist Church, we seek the priorities of the apostles: “We will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4). Our worship services are simple, without any intrusion of gimmicks or worldly entertainment. Above all, we seek the honor of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
PASTOR / LEADERSHIP
About Our Pastor

Nick Claxton
Pastor of Grace Baptist Church
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website! It is my great joy to serve Christ’s flock here in Paxton, Illinois. I grew up about two hours away from Paxton, in the town of Avon, Indiana. It was there that I discovered the life-changing power of the gospel as a thirteen-year-old boy, thanks to the ministry of Faith Baptist Church. I am deeply grateful for the ministry training I received at Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola Theological Seminary, and BJU Seminary. Prior to coming to Paxton, I served as an editor and writer for BJU Press and as a teacher at Eucon International School and University. I am blessed to be married to my wife, Jasmine, and we have three children: Eric, James, and Erin. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading theology, traveling, and driving through the corn fields of central Illinois.
